Kirk Stickler, Lead Pastor with his wife Diane
Kirk grew up in both Rapid City South Dakota and Eugene Oregon. In 2004 He came on staff half time to oversee the construction of our new building. Prior to that, Kirk had been involved in real estate and construction for many years so it was a natural fit for him to serve the church in that area.
In 2009, he joyfully made the jump from the business world to the greatest occupation in the world to serve as our lead pastor.
He loves cars, motorcycles, bikes, adventure, camping and most of all, doing life with his wife and kids.
Diane grew up on the Oregon coast in Coos Bay, and came from a great Christian home. She moved to Springfield as a freshman in high school after the death of her parents. Currently she works as a dental assistant and loves crafts, being a mom, bike riding, camping and traveling to warm places.
Kirk & Diane have three children.
John Poet, Community Pastor with his wife, Diane
John and Diane are the Community Group & Connections Pastors at Calvary Open Bible. After finishing high school, John financed a Bible college education by fighting forest fires in the summer. The summer work developed into a career. In October 2018, after working for the US Forest Service for 37 yrs. as an Incident Commander & as a supervisor on a timber stand improvement crew, John retired in order to come on staff at Calvary.
John is passionate about developing leaders and seeing lives transformed through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The development of community groups, where relationships are built and lives are transformed is a natural extension of that passion.
Diane grew up in Idaho but moved to Springfield her junior year of high school. She is an avid runner, often competing in races from 5k to marathons to triathlons.
John and Diane have been Therapeutic Foster Parents for 15 yrs. fostering 37 boys in partnership with Scar/Jasper Mountain. They have two biological kids, Jordan and his wife Zelia, and Kaley , and currently have four foster boys in their home, John, Damien, Octavion, and Marcus.
Jacque Neuschwander – Worship Intern
Jacquelyn began serving at Calvary in the Fall of 2018. She is currently a student at Northwest Christian University, where she is finishing out her senior year as a Music Business Major.
Jacquelyn grew up in the small town of Harrisburg, Oregon. Her parents are Brad and Jennifer Neuschwander, the senior pastors of Life Bible Church. From a young age Jacquelyn has been leading worship in her parents church, while being mentored by leaders and her parents alike to cultivate the gift that God has given her.
Richard and Owida Bockla - Elevate Youth Pastors
Richard and Owida came on staff as Middle School Youth Pastors in the summer of 2012. They stepped up to be our full time youth pastors in June 2017. Richard graduated from Eugene Bible College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Studies - emphasis in youth ministry.
Richard and Owida were married in the summer of 1993 and have three children, Christian (born in 1995), Autumn (born in 1998) and Trey (born in 2001). Owida has attended Calvary Open Bible her whole life. Richard has been a part of Calvary since the fall of 1990.
In addition to being on staff at Calvary, Richard works for the Springfield school district and Owida works for Safeway. They are passionate to see God working in the lives of young people. If you want to find them at church, just look for the color purple as the whole family are rabid Washington Husky fans! (Nobody's perfect)

Angela is the newest member of our staff. She joined our team as the Middle School Pastor in October of 2017. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii, Angela moved to Oregon in 2014. Since that time, Calvary Open Bible has been her family away from home. She served in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry and Women’s Ministry in various capacities for over 20 years in Hawaii. As the Middle School Youth Pastor at Calvary, Angela enjoys building relationships with young people. She has a heart to see them on fire for God, passionate for the things of God and reaching for His high calling in their lives.
Cindy and Jeff Turner- Children's Pastor and Office Manager
Cindy became our children’s pastor spring of 2017. She completed her Bible certificate from, Boise Bible College, has served as a youth minister at Thurston Christian Church for 10 years, and has directed many youth camps and retreats. She and Jeff worked at the Christian Children’s Ranch in Idaho, fostering 38 children over a 9-year period.
Jeff and Cindy moved back to their hometown, Springfield in 2014. He came on staff as the office manager in the spring of 2015. He attends Boise Bible College, has a BS in Human Services Management and is a small business owner.
Jeff and Cindy will be married 25 years this coming January. They love getting to know new people, developing relationships and finding adventures. Whether it is camping (in tents), bike rides, backpacking, swimming in rivers, fishing, hunting, motorcycle rides or campfire pits, they are in! They love this church and the people here. Since they first came to Calvary 3 years ago, they know how unfun it can be to show up and not know anybody. This church knows how to be friendly. The first step is the hardest but well worth it.
Donna Nickell - Pre-School Pastor
Donna has been serving the children at Calvary Open Bible since 2000. Prior to that, she taught Sunday school at Creswell Church from 1995 to 2000. In 2011, she transitioned from working with the elementary children to being our Pre-K/Nursery Director. Donna has a passion to support parents in their endeavor to lay a solid foundation in their littlest ones. It is her hope that every child and parent feel loved, welcomed, and safe in our nurseries. One can't help but see the passion in her eyes not only when she speaks about "her kids", but also as she faithfully cares for our little ones.
Donna was born in Ohio and moved to Texas in 1983. She moved to Oregon in 1991 to attend Eugene Bible College. Ater her time ther, she too INSTE level on and graduated in 2002. In addition to serving at the church, she provides services for the elderly.
Donna enjoys bicycling with the Urban Cycling community group and spending time with her spiritual mom, Julie.
Gayleen Peterson - AWANA Director
Gayleen came on staff in summer of 2017 as AWANA Commander and part-time leader in children's ministry. She has been working with the children here at Calvary since 2003. Previously she worked in children's ministry at Springfield Free Methodist.
Gayleen would like for the children in AWANA to know God's word and know how to apply it to their everyday life. In working with the AWANA program and Big Family, she finds it gratifying to see children experience spiritual growth and realize she has a small part in that growth.
Gayleen has been married for 26 years as of this March and has 2 lovely daughters. She has and has had the privilege of working alongside her children in this ministry. She has been at her full-time job as Medical Scheduler for 16 years. In her free time, she enjoys reading Christian fiction and crocheting.
Larry Burke and Rachel Moore - Counseling
Larry graduated from Eugene College (now New Hope Christian College) and Northwest Christian University and has two masters degrees and a doctoral degree in Higher Education. He served for 42 years as an administrator and professor at New Hope Christian College and has been an ordained minister of Open Bible Churches for five decades. Larry has been involved in church ministries throughout his adult life in such ways as senior pastor, assistant pastor, elder, pastoral counselor, and teacher. His desire is to equip others to thrive as they build solid relationships and seek God’s direction and become healthy and whole people.

Rachel received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology- Christian Counseling from Liberty University. She graduated with highest honors in 2014. During her training, she interned with the Pregnancy Resource Centers of Central Oregon, counseling women and developing resources for the center. She also has experience counseling online via email, helping equip others with biblical truth and strategies. Her passion is to help people understand their identity in Christ, heal from past hurts and be equipped to live and love in the fullness of God's purpose for them.
