KOR Parent Letter for Dec 20th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
Can you believe it’s almost Christmas?!
Your K-5th grade children will be learning about Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:1-7). Our bottom line: “God gave the greatest gift. What will you give?” We will be lighting the angels’ candle which reminds us of the peace Jesus brought. Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Luke 2:1-7. Thank God for giving you the greatest Christmas gift—His Son, Jesus!
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the angels telling the shepherds about Jesus (Luke 2:8-20) as we continue to encourage them that Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Parent Cue: This week, add bubbles to bath time and help your child pile up the bubbles to make a birthday cake. Sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus and blow out the bubbles!
There will be no Awana on December 23rd and 30th.
You are invited to join us for our Christmas Eve service on Dec 24th at 6pm. The children will be singing a special titled “Happy Birthday, Jesus.” We are practicing our song during our regular children’s church time. If your child(ren) are particularly interested in singing in the service, please let me know so I can send a CD home for practicing. Also, there will be rehearsals on Dec 22nd and 23rd at 6:30pm.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
