KOR Parent Letter for Dec 27th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
Your K-5th grade children will finish out the Christmas story with a look at the shepherds (Luke 2:8-20). Our bottom line: “God gave us good news. Who will you tell?” We will light the Christ candle this Sunday which reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world. Parent Cue: This week, at bed time, read Luke 2:8-20. Ask God to help each of you share about what God has done with someone else this week.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the wise men following a start to worship Jesus (Matthew 2:12-2, 9-11) as they continue to explore the question of how we know God loves us (because He gave us Jesus). Parent Cue: This week, use cookie cutters and Play-Doh to make shapes including a star. Talk about how God gave the wise men a star to follow to find Jesus.
There will only be one service at 10:30am this Sunday!
There will be no Awana on December 23rd and 30th.
You are invited to join us for our Christmas Eve service on Dec 24th at 6pm. The children will be singing a special titled “Happy Birthday, Jesus.” There will be rehearsals on Dec 22nd and 23rd at 6:30pm.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
