Helping the Homeless
Greetings in the name of the Lord,
I wanted to send out a reminder that we will be meeting at 12:30 at Island Park. Also we will probably have a bigger crowd this time. I changed the time to 12:30 because the homeless group goes to a dinner at 4:30 at one of the local churches. I want to thank everyone that helped out last Saturday, we went to the homeless camp on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and then went down to the little park next to Autzen Stadium. I really felt that we made a connection with the people there; I also felt that we were one of the very few groups that have ever minister to the homeless living in that park.
He who is faithful in whatever is least, is faithful in the more valued sought after things; and he who is unjust in what is least, is also unjust in what is highly valued. Therefore if you have not been faithful to the unrighteous man, who will entrust you with the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is entitled to you?
Our goal for the homeless community, is to show them that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the only way to eternal life. A lot of the people we minister to have addictions and are trying to serve two masters. We may be the only part of Jesus they may ever see.
Matt. 25:40-And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
God bless you, Dave and Freida Brown
