KOR Parent Letter for Feb 21st
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope this finds you all well.
Your K-5th grade children will be challenged that “we can work together to change someone’s life” through the story of the friends who brought their paralytic friend to Jesus (Luke 5:17-26). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: When have you been a part of something big because of cooperation? How did it make you feel?
Your Pre-K children will be learning that Jesus loves everyone from a story where “Jesus shows love and forgiveness to a woman who had made bad choices and had no friends” (John 8:2-11). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, add some toy friends to play with. Talk about how God sent Jesus to be our real friend forever.
The Boys’ Nerf Night is tomorrow night (6:30-8:30pm)! Dinner will be provided and we will be hearing from Rich Bockla (our Middle School pastor) about being a man of God. If they have nerf guns and bullets, please have them write their names on them and bring them. If they don’t have their own stuff, we have some they can borrow. Please do not let them bring nerf bow and arrows (we will be in the church and those things pack a good punch). Fathers and big brothers: you are welcome to come and play too! Please let me know if you need more information or would like to help out.
Mark March 11th (6:30-8:30pm) on your calendars for a family board game night!
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
