Prophetic Word over 20-somethings
Attention 20-something-year-olds (and the people who want to see them at their best):
Maybe you haven’t noticed but our society has a lot of things to say about you, and a lot of it isn’t very nice. They say you’re rebellious, self-seeking, and entitled. Those aren’t very nice things to hear about yourself are they?
Until recently, I would get offended for you, and I’d argue that these things just aren’t true of ALL of you. Recently, I learned that these things ARE true about you and THAT’S WHAT I LOVE ABOUT YOU! You ARE rebellious, self-seeking, and entitled!
You ARE rebellious! I declare that you are a rebellious generation that refuses to do things just because that’s the way we’ve always done it. You’re a generation that questions your perceptions about God, culture, and the messages spoken over yourselves. You’re a generation unafraid to ask tough questions and wrestle with the answers!
You ARE self-seeking. You are so self-seeking that you look for your own hurts in others. You are constantly seeking how your actions and personality will be perceived by the people around you. You seek how your SELF can impact the world to become a better place. How your SELF can lead others to health, wealth, and happiness. You are a generation that CRAVES to know what society (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) thinks of you and your latest selfie. Seek your SELF in God’s eyes and perceptions of you! Seek His heart and plans for how He wants to bring health, wealth, and happiness in true, deep, and meaningful ways to the people around you.
You ARE entitled! Listen to me and listen to me well: You are the sons and the daughters of the most high King! Your Daddy is so rich that He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Ps. 50:10). He is so rich that He has storehouses in Heaven to store snow (Job 38:2). I mean, who does that?! Who stores snow?! Your Daddy God does! Every spiritual blessing has been given to you (Eph. 1:3). Stop acting like you’re only entitled to things like the newest iPhone and start acting like you’re entitled to healing, prophecy, wholeness, dreams, visions, peace, the FULLNESS of His presence. Jesus said we will do even greater things than He did (Jn 14:12). Go get those spiritual blessings you are so entitled to!
I repent of believing anything less of you!
