KOR Parent Letter for April 24th

April 21, 2016

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

I hope you have had a great week!

This Sunday

Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “when life gets hard, remember you can help others persevere” with a look at Hebrews 12:12-15. Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: “Who do we know that is going through a hard time? How can we help them persevere?” Together come up with a plan to encourage them and implement it. Be sure to pray with your children for them.

Your Pre-K children will be learning that they “can love God and love people” with a look at Matthew 22:34-40. Parent Cue: This week, cuddle up with your child and pray. “Dear God, thank You for always loving us no matter what. You showed us how much You love us when You sent Your only Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. Help us learn how to love You and love people the way You love us. I want (name of your child) to grow up loving you and people more than anything. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Upcoming Events

Join us on May 14th from 11am to 1pm for our annual Mother/Daughter Tea where we will be encouraged that we are God’s masterpieces. Please come even if you don’t have a daughter, granddaughter, or little sister to bring as there may be girls there who do not have a special female role model to bring with them. For more information or to volunteer: contact Gayleen Peterson.

We will be celebrating all that God has done in the hearts of the children and all that they have accomplished at the Awana Awards Ceremony on May 25th. Join us at 6:30 pm to celebrate with us. There will be a cupcake reception following the ceremony.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Pastor Bre

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
