KOR Parent Letter for May 29th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “when you focus on God, you don’t have to worry” through a look at Matthew 6:25-34. Parent Cue: This week, at bed time, read Matthew 6:25-34 together. Share with each other things that you are tempted to worry about. Talk about how you can choose to not worry. Pray together asking God to help you focus on Him.
Your Pre-K children will be reviewing David’s life and learning that “two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do” (NIrV Ecclesiastes 4:9). Parent Cue: This week, wake your child up with: “Good morning! Today is a great day to be a good friend!” Together look for ways to be a good friend throughout the week.
We will have the new kindergartners and third graders step up to their new classes on June 5th. If they are not ready for this transition, it is fine for them to stay in their old classes; but we will be encouraging them to step up on that Sunday.
We will be recognizing the graduating fifth graders on Graduation Sunday (June 12th) in second service.
Mark June 11th (1-3pm) on your calendars for the Father/Son Amazing Race. More details to come.
Also mark August 1-5 on your calendars for VBS! We will be starting at 6pm for ages 3-10. 3 & 4 year olds will be picked up at 7:30 and everyone else will be done at 9. More information to come.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
