KOR Parent Letter for June 12th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’ve had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus changes how I see Him” through the story of Saul’s conversion (Acts 7:34-60, 9:1-25). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: Who do you know that lives their life in such a way that it makes people want to know more about Jesus?
Your Pre-K children will be learning that God created the sky and water (Genesis 1:6-8). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, hand out squirt toys and play in the water under the big open sky. Talk to your child about how God made the sky and water.
We will be recognizing the graduating fifth graders this Sunday (June 12th) in second service.
Fathers, bring your sons out for a fun afternoon at the Father/Son Amazing Race this Saturday (June 11th (1-3pm)) at the church! Father/Son teams will make memories while participating in a scavenger hunt around the church. Grandfathers, big brothers, mentors, and boys whose fathers can’t make it are welcome too!
We are following Joseph on his Egyptian journey from prison to palace this year at VBS! So mark August 1-5 on your calendars and let me know if you can help! We will be starting at 6pm for ages 3-10. 3 & 4 year olds will be picked up at 7:30 and everyone else will be done at 9. More information to come.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
