KOR Parent Letter for July 17th

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

I hope you had a great week!

This Sunday

Your K-5th grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus is bigger than every other story” through the story of Paul telling Agrippa about Jesus (Acts 21:10-36; 23:11; 25:23-26:32). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Acts 25:23–26:32. Pray for each other, that you would be excited to share the story of Jesus any time God gives you an opportunity.

Your Pre-K children will be learning that God made people on day six (Genesis 1:26-27). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, help your child count his body parts: 2 feet, 10 fingers, 2 ears etc. Remind him that God made people and He loves us very much!

Vacation Bible School

Come spend a while on the Nile as we are follow Joseph on his Egyptian journey from prison to palace at VBS! Mark August 1-5 on your calendars! We will be starting at 6pm for ages 3-10. 3 & 4 year olds will be picked up at 7:30 and everyone else will be done at 9. Simple dinners will be provided.

Registration forms are available for pre-registration in our church office or at the Hub. You can also pre-register your children online at:

There are many fun volunteer opportunities available for VBS! We have room for several more to help out with the 3&4 year olds, as family leaders, at registration, in crafts, and in the kitchen. You can volunteer by talking to me or at the Hub or online at:

Family Leader training will take place on July 21st at 5pm and July 27th at 6pm. Only one training needs to be attended, but we’ve provided two times in an effort to accommodate everyone’s schedules. Please note that if you are going to youth camp, you will want to attend the training on July 21st.

There will be a final training and prayer meeting for all VBS volunteers on July 31st at 6pm.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping out with set up. Also, I am in need of some people to wash costumes and blankets. These will be available at the church on Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Pastor Bre

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
