KOR Parent Letter for July 24th

July 23, 2016

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

I hope you had a great week!

This Sunday

In second service, your K-2nd grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus is bigger than every other story” through the story of Paul telling Agrippa about Jesus (Acts 21:10-36; 23:11; 25:23-26:32). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Acts 25:23–26:32. Pray for each other, that you would be excited to share the story of Jesus any time God gives you an opportunity.

In first service and your 3rd-5th grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus changes how I see my problems” through the story of Paul’s shipwreck (Acts 27:1-28:10). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: How does Jesus’ story show us that God has a plan to use even our problems to bring others closer to Him?

Your Pre-K children will be learning that God rested on day seven (Genesis 1:31-2:3). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, have a fun pillow fight! After your pillow fight, rest on your pillows together and talk about how God rested on day seven.

There will be a final training and prayer meeting for all VBS volunteers on July 31st at 6pm.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping out with set up.

Have a great weekend!

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
