KOR Parent Letter for Aug 31st
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you are enjoying summer!
In second service, your K-2nd grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus changes how I see my problems” through the story of Paul’s shipwreck (Acts 27:1-28:10). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: How does Jesus’ story show us that God has a plan to use even our problems to bring others closer to Him?
In first service and your 3rd-5th grade children will be learning that “the story of Jesus changes how I forgive others” through the story of Paul, Philemon, and Onesimus (Philemon). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: Do you think it matters if our anger is justified or is forgiveness always the answer? Why or why not?
Your Pre-K children will be learning that “in the beginning, God made everything” (Genesis 1:1-2:3). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, make a “God Made It” collage. Cut pictures from magazines or print them from a computer and glue them to a piece of construction paper.

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
