The Source of Strength

Have you ever faced something difficult and thought, 'If I just try a little harder, I can get this'? I think we all do this from time to time. If we just try a bit harder we can reach our dieting goals, or develop better physical fitness or be more consistent in our prayer and time in the Word. While it's true that we need to be disciplined and do our part, the real key to developing greater strength is TRUST. For example, I know several people who have recently turned to a personal trainer to help them achieve their fitness goals. At some level they have to trust that the person instructing them is knowledgeable and will help them be successful. It would be crazy to pay for the services of a trainer if you didn't trust that they could get you results. You also have to have some level of trust to follow what ever program you are given. One way trust is developed is by seeing our hearing about positive results. When a person hires a trainer and they reach their goals, they are likely to tell their friends who hear about and see the results and trust is built.

Trust is the foundation that our faith is built upon. At some level we have to trust that there is a God, that He has a plan, that He is in control, that Jesus died in our place and was raised to prepare a place for us to spend eternity with Him. When we give our life to Jesus and follow Him, our lives change. Jesus said He came that we might have abundant life. When others see the results, the joy, the peace, the difference, they begin to trust that it's real. That's a lot of trust. But...when we trust, we find strength. "Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31 Here at the CRT we share our successes and we learn to trust together. I invite you to join us for a run/walk this week. On Wednesday, we will meet at Clearwater trail at 7 pm. On Saturday we will meet at 9 am at Dorris Ranch and on Sunday we will meet at 7 pm at Clearwater trail.
