KOR Parent Letter for August 7th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you are enjoying summer!
Your K-5th grade children will be learning about obedience which we are defining as: “trusting those who lead you by doing what you’re asked to do.” Our memory verse will be Hebrews 13:17a: “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you…” (NIV).
Your Pre-K children will be focusing on how God loves them. Their memory verse will be Romans 8:39: “Nothing can separate us from God’s love” (NIrV).
What happens at home is more relevant than what happens at church. A conversation with you about what they are learning at church and how it applies to everyday life can be very meaningful.
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that they “should trust and obey even when [they] think [their] way is better” through the story of Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden (Genesis 3:1-24). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Genesis 3:1-24. Ask God to help you honor Him by obeying those who lead you each day.
Your Pre-K children will be learning that God made them through the story of God creating Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:26-27). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, as you wash each part of your child’s body say: “God made your arm. God made your knee. God loves you so because He made you!”
Vacation Bible School
Thank you to everyone who was involved in VBS! It was a huge success. I know that God used you to further His kingdom in the lives of the children, their families, and each other.
We will be kicking off Awana on September 14th at 6:30pm. More information to come.
Thank you for allowing us to invest in your precious children!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
