KOR Parent Letter for Aug 21st
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope this finds you well!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged to “trust and obey even when I don’t know how it will all work out” through the story of Abraham being called by God (Genesis 12:1-5, 13:2-18, 15:1-6). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Genesis 12:1-5. Pray that God will give you the courage, wisdom, and peace to obey even when you aren’t sure how everything will work out.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about how God loves people through the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:3-7). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, use couch cushions to make a sheep pen. Stuffed animals can be the sheep and your child can be the shepherd. Remind your child that Jesus is our shepherd!
We will be kicking off Awana on September 14th at 6:30pm. Registration forms will be available soon.
There are going to be some exciting, new changes to the T&T (3rd-6th grades) curriculum and how it is played out at Awana! If your child is in T&T or you volunteer with the T&T children, we hope you can make it to an informational meeting on September 7th at 6:30pm.
There will be an Awana all volunteer meeting on September 11th at 2pm (after the church potluck).
You will want to mark October 14-15 on your calendars to attend the “Gift of Parenting” seminar! More information to come.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
