KOR Parent Letter for August 28th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’re enjoying your last weeks of summer!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged to “trust and obey because there’s a bigger plan” through the story of God testing Abraham (Genesis 17-18, 21-22). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, talk about all the times you’ve noticed obedience this month. Reward yourselves with a special treat after dinner.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about how God loved Zacchaeus and spent time with him even though he had done some wrong things (Luke 19:1-8). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, have your preschooler draw a portrait of you while you draw a portrait of them. Point out all the things you LOVE about your kid!
We will be kicking off Awana on September 14th at 6:30pm. Registration forms are available at the hub and the church office.
There are going to be some exciting, new changes to the T&T (3rd-5th grades) curriculum and how it is played out at Awana! If your child is in T&T or you volunteer with the T&T children, we hope you can make it to an informational meeting on September 7th at 6:30pm.
There will be an Awana all volunteer meeting on September 11th at 2pm (after the church potluck).
You will want to mark October 14-15 on your calendars to attend the “Gift of Parenting” seminar! More information to come.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
