KOR Parent Letter for Sept 11th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you have had a great first week back at school!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “when life doesn’t make sense, you can trust God is with you” through the story of Joseph in jail (Genesis 40). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: Why is it important to be wise when choosing whom to trust?
Your Pre-K children will also be learning that they can trust God because He keeps His promises through the story of God making the rainbow (Genesis 8:1-9:17). Parent Cue: This week, when you are buckling your child into the car, say: “Trust the Lord with all your heart Proverbs 3:5” and make a heart shape with your hands.
We will be kicking off Awana this Wednesday at 6:30pm. Registration forms are available at the hub and the church office.
There will be an Awana all volunteer meeting this Sunday at 2pm (after the church potluck).
Join us for the “Gift of Parenting” seminar on October 14-15 (6:30-8pm on Friday and 9am-3:30pm on Saturday) as we unwrap the amazing, extravagant, (sometimes odd) gift of biblical parenting. Childcare (infant through 5th grade) will be provided in addition to lunch on Saturday. Registration is required. The registration fee will be $25 per couple and $12.50 for single parents. Stay posted for more information.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
