KOR Parent Letter for Sept 18
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you are enjoying settling into the school routine.
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “when the pressure is on, you can trust God is with you” through the story of Joseph interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams (Genesis 41). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: Why is trust hard at first? Does it get easier over time?
Your Pre-K children will be learning that God’s way is always best through the story of Jonah (Jonah 1:1-3:10). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, cut fish from kitchen sponges and let your child help them swim in the tub. Talk about the big fish that God sent to save Jonah.
The first night of Awana is this Wednesday night (Sept 14th). Check in is open at 6pm.
Join us for the “Gift of Parenting” seminar on October 14-15 (6:30-8pm on Friday and 9am-3:30pm on Saturday) as we unwrap the amazing, extravagant, (sometimes odd) gift of biblical parenting. Childcare (infant through 5th grade) will be provided in addition to lunch on Saturday. Registration is required. The registration fee will be $25 per couple and $12.50 for single parents. Stay posted for more information.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
