KOR Parent Letter for Oct 2nd

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

Welcome to October!

This Month

Your K-5th grade children will be challenged to face their fears and have courage which we are defining as “being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you’re afraid.” Our memory verse will be Joshua 1:9b: “Be strong ad brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you wherever you go” (NIrV).

Your Pre-K will be learning that God’s way is perfect. Their memory verse will be 2 Samuel 22:31: “God’s way is perfect” (NIrV).

This Sunday

Your K-5th grade will be encouraged that “you can do what you should do even when you don’t know what will happen next” through the story of Jochebed, Miriam, and baby Moses (Exodus 2:1-10). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: If you could see into the future, would you want to? Do you think it’d give you more courage?

Your Pre-K children will be exploring the same story as they discover God’s perfect way. Parent Cue: This week, at play time, use a doll/action figure to play hide and seek. While you play, talk about how Moses’ mom trusted God’s plan and Moses was safe!

Upcoming Events

Join us for the “Gift of Parenting” seminar on October 14-15 (6:30-8pm on Friday and 9am-3:30pm on Saturday) as we unwrap the amazing, extravagant, (sometimes odd) gift of biblical parenting. Childcare (infant through 5th grade) will be provided in addition to lunch on Saturday. Registration is required. The registration fee will be $25 per couple and $12.50 for single parents. Brochures (with the registration forms) will be available at the Hub, Kids on the Rock table, and in the church office.

Thank you for allowing us to invest in your precious children!

Pastor Bre

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
