KOR Parent Letter for Nov 6th

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

Welcome to November!

This Month

Your K-5th grade children will be focusing on honor which we will be defining as “letting someone know you see how valuable they really are.” Our memory verse will be Romans 12:10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves” (NIV).

Your Pre-K children will be taking the month to be thankful for people who help them. Their memory verse will be Ephesians 5:20: “Always give thanks to God” (NIV).

This Sunday

Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged to “honor others by giving them a chance” through the story of Samuel anointing David (1 Samuel 16:1-13). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read 1 Samuel 16:1-13. Pray together and ask God to help you honor the people in your life by giving them a chance to be who God made them to be.

Your Pre-K children will be learning about the time Aaron helped his brother, Moses, by holding his arm up while Hur held his other arm (Exodus 17: 8-13). Parent Cue: This month, when you child wakes up, say: “Good morning! Today is a great day to help someone! God gives us people to helps us so let’s go help others!”

Don’t forget that we are only having one service at 10:30am this week. Also, don’t forget to turn your clocks back.

Pastor Bre

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
