Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’ve had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Don’t forget that the last Sunday to bring your boxes to church is Nov. 20th. Parent Cue: Use packing your Operation Christmas Child boxes at home as an opportunity to talk about gratitude and giving with your children.
Your Pre-K children will be packing shoeboxes during the first part of the service (during worship). Afterwards, they will be learning about when God’s people came together to help Nehemiah rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 1-6). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, build a wall using graham crackers, pretzel sticks, and peanut butter for glue. Talk about how Nehemiah was thankful for help!
Join us at Skate World on November 17th (6-8pm) for a family skate night!
The Gift of Parenting Seminar was wonderful! CDs are available at the CD counter for you if you were unable to attend.
We will be celebrating Jesus’ birthday with a birthday party on December 5th at 6:30pm.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
