KOR Parent Letter for Nov 20th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’ve had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged to “honor others by putting them first” through the story of Jonathan putting David first (1 Samuel 18:1-9, 19:1-7, 20:1-42). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: How does being honored make you feel? Remember putting others first, even in small ways, shows you see their worth because they’ve been made by God.
Your Pre-K children will be thankful for people who help them as they look at the story of a woman helping Elisha by making him a room to stay in (2 Kings 4:8-17). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, pretend to be pet vets with stuffed animals. As you care for the animals talk about people who give your child what he needs.
Join us at Skate World tomorrow (November 17th (6-8pm)) for a family skate night!
There will be no Awana next Wednesday (November 23rd).
We will be celebrating Jesus’ birthday with a birthday party on December 5th at 6:30pm.
The Gift of Parenting Seminar was wonderful! CDs are available at the CD counter for you if you were unable to attend.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
