KOR Parent Letter for Dec 11th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’re having a merry week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that they “can have joy because anything is possible with God” through the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25, 57-79). We will be lighting the second purple candle on our advent wreath which is called the Bethlehem candle and reminds us of God’s love. Parent Cue: This week, at bed time, read Luke 1:5-25. Pray together and ask God to help you to trust Him in situations that feel impossible.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about when Mary gave birth to Jesus in a stable (Luke 2:1-7). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, sit with your child and a nativity set (preferably a play one if you have one). Together make the voices and animal sounds to tell the true story of Christmas.
Family Advent Activity
We have a gift for all our families with pre-k and elementary aged children. It is some supplies for baking a birthday cake for Jesus. We hope that you will find time this month to bake a cake and celebrate Jesus’ birthday at home with your children.
This Sunday, in second service, we will be honoring families who have fostered or adopted children.
There will be no Awana on Dec 21st and 28th.
Have a great week!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
