KOR Parent Letter for Jan 8th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you are all enjoying the snow.
Your K-5th grade children will be learning that “what God says is the most important thing to know” though the story of the boy Jesus in the temple (Luke 2:41-52). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Luke 2:41-52. Pray together and ask God to help you desire to learn what He says.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the time that four friends carried their disabled friend to Jesus because He had the power to help him (Mark 2:1-12). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, let your child pick a stuffed “friend” to carry everywhere they go. Talk about the four friends who carried their friend to Jesus.
H2Go: Offering Project
This month we are partnering with Compassion International to provide water filtering systems for families in the Philippians. Nearly half of Filipino households do not have safe drinking water. Along with poor sanitation, unsafe water is the second biggest killer of children globally. For $79, we can provide a water filtering system with a reusable filter that will give one family a million gallons of fresh water! Let’s see how many filtering systems we can provide!
Awana will resume this Wednesday (Jan. 11th).
Bring your elementary age daughters out to the Girls’ Spa Night on January 20th at 6:30pm for a night of pampering and talking about true beauty.
Stay safe and we’ll see you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
