KOR Parent Letter for Jan 15th

January 14, 2017

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:

I hope you’ve had a great week!

This Sunday

Your K-2nd grade children (attending second service) will be learning that “discovering what God says helps you follow Jesus” through the story of Jesus’ baptism (John 1:19-42). The rest of your K-5th grade children will be learning that “what God says is the most important thing to know” though the story of the boy Jesus in the temple (Luke 2:41-52). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, learn something new about each other! Go around the table and share your favorite TV show, movie, book, or food!

Your Pre-K children will be learning about the time people brought a deaf man to Jesus and He healed him (Mark 7:32-37). Parent Cue: This week, play hide and seek with a bell by following the sound. Tell your child about the man who couldn’t hear and needed Jesus to help him.

H2Go: Offering Project

This month we are partnering with Compassion International to provide water filtering systems for families in the Philippians. For $79, we can provide a water filtering system with a reusable filter that will give one family a million gallons of fresh water! Let’s see how many filtering systems we can provide!

Upcoming Events

Bring your elementary age daughters out to the Girls’ Spa Night on January 20th at 6:30pm for a night of pampering and talking about true beauty. Let me know if you are interested in helping out.

We will be having an Awana handbook workshop on Jan 22nd at 3-4pm where you can bring your K-6th grade Awana children to get caught up on their handbooks.

The Boys’ Nerf Night is coming up on February 10th at 6:30-8pm.

Have a great weekend!

Pastor Bre

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV84).
