Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you are having a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be talking about how “everyone needs to be forgiven, even me” through the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-24). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Luke 15:11-24 with your child(ren). Pray together and ask God to help you know where you need to ask for forgiveness.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the parable Jesus told about a man who did not share with others (Luke 12:16-21). Parent Cue: This week, during bath time, ask your child to say a name each time you say “I can love . . .” Any name works because God wants us to love everyone!
Dads (or grandpas or big brothers etc.): bring your Pre-K – 6th grade daughters out to our 1950s soda shop for a daddy/daughter date night on March 17th (6:30-8pm). We will be serving ice cream sundaes and root beer floats. You can come dressed up nice, casual, or in your 1950s threads. We encourage you to take your daughters out to dinner beforehand.
We are offering an Awana Handbook Workshop on March 26th (at 1:30-2:30pm) for children who need to get caught up in their handbooks.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
