KOR Parent Letter for March 19th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I trust this finds you well.
Your K-5th grade children will be learning that “when you don’t forgive, you miss out” through the story of the older brother and the prodigal son (Luke 15:21-32). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: who in your life do you need to forgive?
Your Pre-K children will be learning about a generous, poor widow who gave everything she had to the temple offering (Mark 12:41-44). Parent Cue: This week, wake up your child to: “Rise and shine! It’s a great day to love one another!”
Thank you to everyone who was a part of the Daddy/Daughter Date Night! Memories were made!
We are offering an Awana Handbook Workshop on March 26th (at 1:30-2:30pm) for children who need to get caught up in their handbooks.
The Grand Prix is coming up on April 22nd and car kits are available (for $5) at Awana! We will offer a pre-event workshop at noon (on Apr 22nd) for children to try their cars out on the track and adjust the weight if they need. Check-in will begin at 1pm and the race will begin at 1:30pm.
We are offering a Grand Prix work day on April 9th at 1:30pm during which John Egli will be willing to help children cut out their cars at his shop (the Cozy Cruiser at 790 30th St Building E1 Springfield, OR 97478). Parents must accompany their children.
Have a great week!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
