KOR Parent Letter for March 26th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you’ve had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “since God forgave you, you should forgive others” through the parable of the unmerciful servant (Matthew 18:21-35). Parent Cue: This week, at bedtime, read Luke 15:21-32. Pray together and ask God to help you let go of any anger you’re holding on to towards someone else.
Your Pre-K children will be concluding their month of learning about loving others with a look at the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-24). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, wrap your arms around your child, give her a big hug, and say “I love you no matter what!” Tell her God loves us no matter what, too!
We are offering an Awana Handbook Workshop this Sunday (March 26th at 1:30-2:30pm) for children who need to get caught up in their handbooks.
The Grand Prix is coming up on April 22nd and car kits are available (for $5) at Awana! We will offer a pre-event workshop at noon (on Apr 22nd) for children to try their cars out on the track and adjust the weight if they need. Check-in will begin at 1pm and the race will begin at 1:30pm.
We are offering a Grand Prix work day on April 9th at 1:30pm during which John Egli will be willing to help children cut out their cars at his shop (the Cozy Cruiser at 790 30th St Building E1 Springfield, OR 97478). Parents must accompany their children.
See you this Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
