KOR Parent Letter for April 9th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you have had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “I can put others first by letting go of what I want” through the story of Jesus praying in the garden (Matthew 26:36-46). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, talk about ways in which we win when we put others first
Your Pre-K children will be talking about how Jesus is the best through the story of Jesus’ triumphant entry (Matthew 21:1-16). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, march around the house cheering for Jesus saying: “Jesus is the best! Yaaaaay, Jesus! Jesus is the best! Yaaaaay, Jesus!”
The Grand Prix is coming up on April 22nd and car kits are available (for $5) at Awana! We will offer a pre-event workshop at noon (on Apr 22nd) for children to try their cars out on the track and adjust the weight if they need. Check-in will be 1pm-1:15pm and the race will begin at 1:30pm.
We are offering a Grand Prix work day this Sunday (April 9th) at 1:30-3:30pm during which John Egli will be willing to help children cut out their cars at his shop (the Cozy Cruiser at 790 30th St Building E1 Springfield, OR 97478). Parents must accompany their children.
Moms and sons: mark your calendars for the Mother/Son Amazing Race on May 7th at 12:30-2:30pm!
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
