KOR Parent Letter for April 16th
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “I can put others first because Jesus put me first” through the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection (John 18:12-20:23). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, share with each other activities you do that you find hard to value others during by letting them go first.
We will be offering K-5th grade classes through the entirety of both services this week. Please check your children in upstairs before the service. Check in will be open at 8:45am for first service and 10:45am for second service.
Your Pre-K children will be learning about Jesus’ last supper, death, and resurrection (Matthew 26:20-30; 27:40-50; 28:1-7). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, gather some stuffed animals for a pretend meal. Talk about Jesus having a special meal with His friends before He went far away.
The Grand Prix is coming up on April 22nd and car kits are available (for $5) at Awana! We will offer a pre-event workshop at noon (on Apr 22nd) for children to try their cars out on the track and adjust the weight if they need. Check-in will be 1pm-1:15pm and the race will begin at 1:30pm.
Moms and sons: mark your calendars for the Mother/Son Amazing Race on May 7th at 12:30-2:30pm!
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
