KOR Parent Letter for Apr 23rd
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you have all had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “I can put others first by doing what Jesus said” through the story of Jesus’ commission and ascension (Matthew 28:16-20). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: how do you see others in your family living out humility and putting others first?
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the time Jesus told Peter that He’d use him to build the church and it would do great things (Matthew 16:17-18). Parent Cue: This week, at play time, make a paper doll chain to show how when one person tells another person that Jesus is the best it builds the church!
The Grand Prix is coming up this Saturday (April 22nd)! We will offer a pre-event workshop at noon (on Apr 22nd) for children to try their cars out on the track and adjust the weight if they need. Check-in will be 1pm-1:15pm and the race will begin at 1:30pm. A concession stand with snacks will be available. All proceeds will go to our Awana ministry.
Moms and sons: mark your calendars for the Mother/Son Amazing Race on May 7th at 12:30-2:30pm! Lunch will be served. This is going to be a great time of having fun and making memories with the boys. Grandmas, stepmoms, aunts, and big sisters are welcome to come if mom is unavailable.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
