KOR Parent Letter for Apr 30
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
I hope you have all had a great week!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged that “put others first” with a look at Philippians 2:3-8. Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, ask: what is something you can do tomorrow to put someone else first?
Your Pre-K children will be learning about the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, say this month’s Bible verse while you bathe your child and let her pick different people’s names to say in place of “the world.”
Thank you to everyone who was a part of making the Grand Prix a success!
Moms and sons: mark your calendars for the Mother/Son Amazing Race on May 7th at 12:30-2:30pm! Lunch will be provided. This is going to be a great time of having fun and making memories with the boys. Grandmas, stepmoms, aunts, and big sisters are welcome to come if mom is unavailable.
We are offering one more Awana handbook workshop on May 21st (1:30-2:30pm) for children to get caught up in reaching their goals in the handbooks.
Come out and celebrate with us all that God did in the hearts of our children at our Awana Awards Ceremony on May 31st at 6:30pm. A cupcake reception will follow.
Have a great weekend!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
