KOR Parent Letter for May 14
Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Mentors of Calvary:
Happy Mother’s Day!
Your K-5th grade children will be encouraged to “keep going even when the job is bigger than you think” through the story of Peter and Cornelius (Acts 10). Parent Cue: This week, at dinner, talk about ways you stay motivated to keep going when things are hard.
Your Pre-K children will continue to learn that “God’s got it” through the story of Him hearing Ishmael crying and providing water (Genesis 21:14-20). Parent Cue: This week, at bath time, talk about how God gives us the water we need just like He gave Hagar and Ishmael the water they needed.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of making the Mother/Son Amazing Race so fun!
We are offering one more Awana handbook workshop on May 21st (1:30-2:30pm) for children to get caught up in reaching their goals in their handbooks.
Come out and celebrate with us all that God did in the hearts of our children at our Awana Awards Ceremony on May 31st at 6:30pm. A cupcake reception will follow.
See you Sunday!
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NIV).
