Baptism is a public declaration that you have decided to follow Jesus. It symbolizes being washed clean, leaving the old life behind, and being raised to new life in Christ.
At Calvary, we believe baptism is an important next step in your faith journey. If you have accepted Jesus and would like to be baptized, sign up and we’ll contact you with details about upcoming Baptism Sundays.

In addition to the example Jesus set for us through his baptism, it is a significant practice of many others in the New Testament, who were beginning their walk with Christ. Jesus ultimately commanded that those following His way, living as disciples under His teachings, should continue to baptize all those who also accepted Jesus.

Water Baptism is a public declaration of three things:
1. You are a disciple of Jesus.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized.” —Acts 2:41
2. You are beginning a new life in Christ.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” —Romans 6:4
3. You are a part of a new family.
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” —Galatians 3:26–27

Your baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a new and changed life with Him, and uniting with the family of God within a church community. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life, or if you have begun a new life with Jesus for a second time, then you should be baptized again.
